SPORTS 4 FUN PROJECT
Legacy Pitch, National Stadium, Surulere.
To launch a sports project to raise awareness on poor literacy rate for children living in orphanages whilst also providing support through sport activities and donations.
The objectives of this project were to:
- Improved impact on mental health.
- Improved access to Education for children living in orphanages.
- Collaborate with Inter Lagos FC to fundraise for 72 children.
The Sports project preparation began in earnest in the month of March, 2024 and was successfully implemented on the 12th of May, 2024 i.e the last match in the season.
The meeting with the Inter Lagos FC management Team held in April 2024 to share project plans and secure sponsorship approval towards the execution of the project.
The Selection of 100 children from orphanages began in earnest and was finalised with the Mawumadoko orphan School in Iwaya, Lagos. The Team selected the 72 children to watch the football match live.
The Logistic arrangements was initiated by Madam Blessing from securisk who contacted partner insurance companies and got 2 Buses from Mutual Assurance ltd and 1 Bus from Prestige Assurance Ltd.
Pre and post Social media engagement was done to create awareness of the partnership using flyers, videos and testimonials to accelerate progress of SDG 4 – access to quality education by leveraging sports.
Football Match Day The 72 children were conveyed from the orphanage to legacy pitch, National Stadium, Surulere to watch the match which lasted for 1 hour, 30 minutes. The Inter Lagos FC played against Ijebu United FC and won 2 – 0.
Post Project Activity and Evaluation – 10 Children will be selected for a meet and greet with the players in May 16, 2024. Caring Community Creators, Inter Lagos FC, Mutual Assurance Ltd, Prestige Assurance Ltd, 4 Volunteers and 1 Staff made this project a success.
