MATERNAL HEALTH OUTREACH
ISOLO TOWN HALL OPPOSITE OBA OF ISOLO PALACE
Promoting access to quality health services and raising awareness within the isolo community on post natal mental health
The objectives of this outreach were to:
- Improved access to quality maternal and child healthcare services.
- Increased awareness on post-maternal health.
The community service project was held on 23rd July 2024. The project had in attendance partners from Rotaract Club of Isolo and Quest HMO.
The project kicked off at exactly 11am with an opening remark by the CCC Project officer, Ruhamah Ifere, who explained the objectives of the Mother and Child project and its focus on promoting access to quality health services and raising awareness within the Isolo community on post natal mental health.
The World health Organisation (WHO) defines maternal mental health as ‘’a state of well-being in which a mother realizes her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her community’’.
The project began with a free medical check-up for 50 women and children featuring Blood pressure check-up, sugar test level, dispensing of drugs for children. This was followed by a discussion on Health by Quest HMO Representative- Mr Ola Olalekan and Dr Malachy Victor. They threw more light on the importance of Health and how to prevent complicated health issues with focus on the Quest HMO Subsidized rate services.






This was followed by donation of 6 neatly packed clothes for mothers and children.
ACHIEVEMENTS
– 50 mothers and children received quality healthcare services.
– 50 families benefited from Quest HMO Subsidized rates.
– Strengthened community networks. Caring Community Creators, Quest HMO and Rotaract Club of Isolo collaborated for this project. 50 Market women traders and children were the beneficiaries.
