ADDICTION & IT’S TRAPS, SUICIDE PREVENTION, STRUGGLES & SITUATIONS IN RELATIONSHIPS, HANDLING STRESS &ANXIETY, STEPS TO BOOST MENTAL WELLBEING

The objectives of this outreach were to:

  • “Public Understanding: The interview helped raise awareness about mental health issues, reduce stigma, and educate listeners on topics such as symptoms, treatment options, and coping strategies.
  • Resource Sharing: Listeners become more aware of available resources, support services, and how to access them.”

The purpose of the radio talks was to address critical mental health issues, including addiction and its traps, suicide prevention, struggles and situations in relationships, handling stress and anxiety, and steps to boost mental wellbeing. The project aimed to engage the public in meaningful conversations to foster better understanding, reduce stigma, and promote mental health resources.

It was a beneficial discussion that included an engaging Q&A session. Various calls came through with questions focused on some core mental health issues. Dr Nitin gave relevant and helpful responses within the limited timeframe.

1. Public Understanding: The radio talks were designed to raise awareness about mental health issues, reduce the stigma associated with them, and educate listeners on various topics, including symptoms, treatment options, and coping strategies.

2. Resource Sharing: The sessions aimed to inform listeners about available mental health resources, support services, and how to access these resources to seek help or support others in need.

The mental health radio talks were a significant step towards increasing public understanding and resource sharing for mental health. However, challenges such as limited reach, cultural barriers, resource constraints, engagement issues, and technical difficulties need to be addressed. By implementing the above recommendations, future programs can have a greater impact and contribute more effectively to the mental well-being of the community.
