LEARNING FOR LASTING PEACE

ZOOM (WEBINAR) A Zoom Webinar to discuss Education, Peace and SDgs.

To commemorate the 2024 International Day of Education themed “Learning for Peace”.

The objectives of this webinar were to:

• To discuss the theme for the International Day of Education as outlined by UNESCO.
• To share ideas on how to promote access to Education for children and promote a safe learning environment that will leave no one behind

The webinar to commemorate the International Day of Education 2024 held on the 24th day of January 2024.

Here are interesting highlights from the panel session organised by @irukaa.official and @caringcommunitycreators on Learning for Peace in line with the theme by @unesco

Peace is not just the absence of war, unrest, but it also relates to the absence of Hate speech, infringement of human rights and ability to resolve conflicts positively.

Our Project officer @ruhamah_ifere also shared @caringcommunitycreators interventions to creating a safe environment and promoting of Peace Education.

Through our donations of 10 Football Booths to the Young school girls of @huracanfoundation HURACAN FC Girls by @braceuptheyoung , young girls now have the confidence to study and interact collaboratively with others.

Through our partnership with @zonef__9110ng for the Basic Literacy and Education Project, More than 300 Students in Two public secondary schools iand Local Government Nursery and Primary School n Lagos now have access to Educational resources – Exercise Books, Pencils, Biros, White boards and educational trainings.

Young people can leverage Volunteerism with @caringcommunitycreators and other organisations to promote peace education.

Peace is possible and with Education as a tool, young people can become positive change agents.
