The issue of healthcare is a pressing problem that affects millions of senior citizens across Nigeria, including rural communities. Many older adults are struggling to get access to good and affordable healthcare services. This has been a persistent problem in the rural communities and with the older generation, this has caused serious health consequences and a diminished quality of life. This issue is particularly acute for low-income seniors who may not have the financial means or support systems to ensure regular access to supplements and drugs.

Through conversations with local organizations serving seniors and older persons living in these conditions, as well as research on the topic, we have learned that a significant number of older adults suffer from major health challenges due to lack of access and affordability.

It’s disheartening to know that many older persons are struggling with serious health challenges. The problem seems to be on the rise, with a 12% increase in cases, which is particularly alarming for those living in grassroots communities in developing countries. However, there is hope on the horizon. Aligning with

SDG 3 goal of achieving GOOD HEALTH AND WELL-BEING, Joga Orile project provided free medical consultation, Eye screening and free drug distribution for 163 beneficiaries.

Our objective is simple but powerful: to provide access to affordable healthcare services to the most vulnerable older persons.
